here are my two things for today

i love this side table... it's another item that my dad and step-mom gave me

i love this old amplifier that is my husbands... it still works great and sounds divine... not sure when it's from... i still need to do some research on it to see

little weekend review in photos

 i found this gorgeous antique globe from the 50's

bought some frames to paint from the goodwill

vans bus in our neighborhood... tyler and i wanted to steal it

into the game much?

homemade banana cake with carmel frosting...mmmm

overall our weekend was pretty good!

dan ended up feeling better on saturday so i was able to go antiquing and thrifting

we did not get those valentines made though... but that's okay - it's on todays agenda!

dan and i also rearranged our bedroom

our bed was under the window and i decided to move it after seeing some black mold growing on our window... yuck! i cleaned it up right away, but thought since dan is allergic to most molds, it would probably be a good idea to move our bed

we moved it and found black mold covering the wall from the window sill down... our bed had been hiding it... luckily there was no mold growing on our bed!

we've found some mold throughout the house so we've decided to finally call our landlord to let him know - it is not healthy for us to be living in a house with mold and i'm almost positive that dan's health issues may have something to do with this house. 

who knows though.

anyway, i should have taken a picture of it but was so disgusted that we cleaned it right away.

sunday we had my sis-in-law, kiana, and her three kids over for the super bowl

my brother (her husband) has been in japan and russia for the past ten days and i always like to spend time with her when he goes out of town.

we enjoyed some good appetizers, wine, great conversation, laughs and my homemade banana cake with carmel frosting

so good.

1. How many piercing's do you have? 10 - five in one ear, four in the other... i only wear earrings in four of them though... sometimes five... and i have my nose pierced.

2. I love the sound of.....? lawnmowers in the distance - it reminds me of summer - and i love it when i hear my kids sing

3. Favorite city? i really don't have one... but i do enjoy san francisco and northern california in general

4. Colts, Saints, or could care less? i could care less, although we are watching the superbowl today and having my sister in law, my niece and two nephews over for a little shindig

5. Frozen yogurt or ice cream? frozen yogurt for sure - i love me some fruity flavors with carob chips and granola!

6. Favorite appetizer? grilled artichokes with yummy aioli sauce

7. What item in your closet currently makes you the happiest? i always feel pretty when i'm wearing my silk romper pants from anthropologie

8.Favorite facial moisturizer? i haven't found a favorite yet, but i use aveeno positively radiant daily moisturizer

grand plans

good morning friends

it's a rainy saturday here and i love it

i've been doodling a lot lately... 

i had grand plans of rearranging my bedroom but i have a feeling that dan will be in bed most of the day today. 

this week has been bad for him... :-(

i also had plans to go thrifting...  but i don't want to take all three kids

so

instead

i think we're going to pick up some supplies and make pretty valentines for the kids in tannyn's class

totally the perfect craft project to do on a rainy day!

speaking of tannyn

we got frozen yogurt yesterday

1.  If I had two hours to myself today, I'd    work out .

2.  If I could travel anywhere today, I would go to   texas to see my sis and some other lovely peeps, oregon and virginia .

picnik fun

some of you may know that i like to use picnik.com when i edit my photos or add frames... 

well, today they are offering their premium package for free until midnight tonight

i had a little bit of fun messing around with some of the options that the premium package has to offer

insta thin (not premium) and gritty (premium)

insta thin, airbrush, highlights, eye color, wrinkle remover 

pencil sketch... which isn't premium but i just discovered it today while playing around

total waste of my time? 

yes... but it was fun to have premium for day... even if it was just to try it out knowing i'll never buy it!

cameras, brooches, owls, anchors - oh my!

i took part in katie at skunkboy creatures craft swap that she put on a few weeks ago

i was paired up with the lovely jamie from inspired mess

this is what jamie made me

we decided to do an embroidery swap... i love my little camera she embroidered and the brooch is just so fun!

jamie said she likes owls and anchors

so this is what i embroidered for her

i had a lot of fun making these for jamie and have really enjoyed getting to know her...

she's a great gal and i'm happy to call her a new friend
