i went to ikea for the first time the other day - dang, that store is huge! i'm not really a fan of shopping, i get tired quickly and as you moms out there know, it can be challenging trying to shop with kiddos in tow...
but at ikea, there was so much to look at that dan, the kids and i kinda enjoyed it! well... maybe not tyler so much...
i went there in hopes of finding a coffee table that i had seen in the catalog for only $19.99 - i have been wanting a new coffee table for ages. the one we have had, although nice, was just too large for our small space. not only did i find the coffee table but i found a rug and curtains too - we walked out of ikea spending barely any money at all - amazing!
our old coffee table that is now residing in the play room
new ikea coffee table and rug
dan picked out the rug... it's not what i had envisioned but it'll do for now until i find what i really want... it was so super cheap i can't even believe it. and the coffee table is much smaller than our old one... it's a little "new" looking for me but i'm sure it'll get banged up how i like it in no time - that's kinda what happens with things in our house... having three kids, a dog and a cat will do that pretty quickly!
are any of you fans of ikea?
any of you not been there yet?
xo,
kass

Oh my goodness...I actually have that exact coffee table from ikea...in England! It is particularly fabulous (and brilliantly cheap!)
I love ikea! That place is huge and overwhelming though!
We have that same coffee table but in black :)
i love ikea:) your house is adorbable!
I love Ikea... and that coffee table and rug! I go to Ikea every time I'm near one! Even their food is delicious (& super cheap!)
i do like ikea, but i have to say the store stresses me out, it's like a rat maze because you have to walk through every department. (also, i just found your formspring and LOVED the story about how dan proposed. what a sweetheart.)
love it! so wish NASHVILLE had a shop... next time i'm in atlanta I have got to go!!
my IKEA obsession runs deep. I used to live really close to one in Burbank and needless to say I spent way more time there than I should have!
Carl is Swedish so last trip to IKEA we bought tons of swedish meatballs and other food stuff to cook at home that was so good!
And our couch is from IKEA and is named for the town in Sweden where his father grew up and we visited last month. LOVE LOVE LOVE IKEA!
ps - your place looks great!! I love the rug - good job Dan!
confession: i am afraid of ikea.
So cute...the white table totally brightens up the room and Dan did a good job with the rug! Everytime I go to IKEA I'm always so surprised by the prices, we just got Bennett a few toys for his bday and they were incredibly cheap for wood toys! I like that even though everything is majorly mass-produced, it still has style and quality which is nice!
the closest ikea that i know of is about 2.5 hours away from me (just outside of dc) so i haven't been, but i want so much from that store!
i love your new coffee table, but i love the old one, too.
xo infinity cubed
that was your first time?! holy moly i LOVE that place. more specifically, i love their swedish meatballs in the cafe!! sometimes i go to ikea just to eat :-)
I (heart) IKEA !! I only wish we had one in TN...when I lived in FL we went all the time. I have that exact 19.99 coffee table (except in dark brown)and it has held up better than I thought...I even have the small 7.99 tables for nightstands !
That rug looks great...good job Dan !
Hugs!
I love IKEA!!! I like the coffee table too..super cute for 19.99!!
Um, the rug is just okay..sorry Dan! ;-)
i'm in LOVE with ikea! and they have such great new cute things! love your tv stand!
I love IKEA and can't wait to go back! Such a cute blog and I love the rug I need to find one for my room but I just can't decide what to pick!
Following you from Follow Me Chickadee. Would appreciate it if you could come over and follow me back. Terry

we had that table and it was super awful! it would probably be okay if you hammered in a couple of nails into the corners. the veneer along the edges peeled up and ripped a pair of my favorite jeans and cut my leg!
we do however have an entertainment stand from ikea that's been great though. hopefully your table holds up better than ours did!
yay for checking out ikea!
