before and after paint project

painting furniture is one of my favorite things to do
it is very relaxing for me

i have been doing a lot of painting over the weekend and today as well

here are some before and after photos of my first project of the weekend

my dad and step-mom gave me (or maybe it's on loan...) this hutch a few years ago

i love this hutch

i had been toying with the idea of wallpapering the inside or painting the inside... and i finally decided to paint it since it's cheaper....

after i painted the hutch, i got a little paint happy (happens all the time) and i painted the chairs that go around our dinner table. two were yellow and two were red... i painted the yellow ones turquoise and the red ones white.

i'm pretty satisfied with the end result

what do you guys think?

i have some more painting projects that i worked on today that i'll post later... so be on the lookout for those.

also, keep an eye out for a giveaway.... it's coming sooooooon!

xo,
kass

i love your mis-matchy but still coordinated chairs. so cute!

your dining room is adorable and you rocked your paint project. i hate painting. not my fave. even when the end results are super cute like yours :).

aw, thank you marisa - it was a fun project!

thanks lauren... it really is fun... time consuming but fun. i have never bought anything for our home... everything has been given to us and i have painted most of my furniture myself! i LOVE it!

ah i love it! i even liked it with the colored chairs before. i am addicted to tiffany blue right now and i want to make sure it isnt a phase before i go cover my house in it. :)

i love this! i love the color you chose! and that hutch is beautiful! i would love to own something like that!

thank you allie!

i'm so into bright colors right now... i was a few years ago too and i DID cover my house in it... it was a total phase for me and i grew tired of it pretty quick. i'm sure my obsession with turquoise will fade quickly too... but that's the nice thing about paint - you can always switch it up!!! i just choose to paint my odds and ends and not my walls... they are much too time consuming and not nearly as fun to paint!

thanks so much chloe! the color is growing on me... i was bummed because it looked totally different before i had them mix it up... i thought there was going to be a bit more green in it and not such a bright blue... it reminds me of the tropics and that was not what i was going for... but... as i said, it's growing on me - glad you like it!

Wow, I love the combination of the white and aqua! You also have such cute treasures inside. I'm still trying to talk Chris into letting me have different or differently painted chairs in the dining room, but he's not so sure. I'm going to show him your pictures!

Kassi said...

yay! i'm glad you like it danielle - thank you for the compliments! i've always wanted different chairs... and that's why i paint them differently... i change it up ever couple of years! i hope chris likes what he sees here and lets you get different chairs or differently painted ones!
