lopsided pillow

cup of coffee in hand... thank goodness.
i've been soooo tired lately
it probably has to do with having sick kids and the two year old attached to my hip at all times...

so much to get done today
ugh.

i DID finally finish a crocheted pillow i was working on... it turned out a little lopsided... guess i didn't count very well. but that's what happens when you crochet while watching movies.

i made it to have two different sides... just in case i get tired of the bright colors...

my crochet skills are lacking... i need to work on it... but it's hard when i've always got a two year old sitting on my lap every time i sit down.

okay, so i know that i told you i was going to do a giveaway for all of you when i hit 50 followers... that was only a couple of weeks ago but now i'm up to 83... thank you for following! sorry i've lagged on getting out the giveaway but i'm making it...

i'm hoping i'll be able to get it done by next week

i appreciate you following and i love your comments - thanks for reading, for the encouragement and the love!

happy friday my friends!

OH, and speaking of giveaways the lovely and beautiful brandi is doing an awesome giveaway on her blog - check it out yo!

some of you may have read about sweet daisy love merrick

she is the daughter of britt and kate merrick

i used to work with britt at calvary chapel santa barbara and he also married daniel and i. he and his wife kate are wonderful people. their daughter, daisy love, was diagnosed with a wilms tumor back in september... she is going through chemo treatments... please keep daisy and the rest of the merrick family in your prayers.

i like the pink side too. i also love the lopsided-ness=not only does it give it character, it is also perfect for some one with a small head to lay on one side, and someone with a big head to lay on the other. hahaha

hahaha thanks monica! my kids (with little heads) did say it was comfy! ;-)

Like I said before, your crochet skills are better than mine! I can't watch movies, or even listen to them while I'm crocheting! I like your colors. I can't wait to see what you're doing for the giveaway, and I'm going to check out Brandi's right now! Hope you have a good Friday! xoxoxo

cute pillow. and it's not too lopsided. when i tried to make a scarf once it was so lopsided that the edges were wavy. so bad.

i'm always impressed that you ever find time to craft with kiddos at all times. you're kind of my hero :).

aw, thank you lauren... i stay up way too late to get my crafting done... and i put the kids to bed early... earlier than they want. ha

i'm sure your scarf was pretty!

i bought a little mini "learn to crochet" kit last night.
and i'm so excited to start learning.
your pillow is adorable!
do you have any books/tutorials you would recommend?

Kassi said...

yay! that is so fun... i look forward to seeing some of your creations, lydia!

i have never read a book on crocheting - i probably should though...

the only tutorial i've ever watched is this one
http://www.thecraftytipster.com/magic-circle.html

it tells you how to crochet the perfect circle... it's easy and fun to do!

let me know if you try it!

thanks for the compliment on the pillow!
